Our goal is simple: every profile on NaijaProfiles should be accurate, fair and useful.
Sources
- We prefer primary sources: official websites, verified social profiles, interviews given by the person, government gazettes and records, and books.
- We also use reputable news organisations and reference works. Every article lists its sources at the end.
- When sources disagree (for example on a birth date), we say so instead of picking one silently.
What we do not publish
- Rumours, gossip or speculation about relationships, health or private lives.
- Invented or unverified figures, such as guessed net worth or salary estimates.
- Details about private family members, especially children, beyond what the person has made public.
- Death announcements without confirmation from family, official or reputable news sources.
Living people
We write about living people with extra care, focusing on their public life and work. People we write about, or their representatives, can ask us to review a profile at any time.
Images
We only use photos that are freely licensed (with credit), official press images or images used with permission.
Updates
We review profiles regularly and update them when there is significant news, such as a new role, award or release. The “Updated” date on each article shows the last review.
Independence
We do not accept payment to publish, change or remove biographies. Advertising does not influence our content.
